GT3 Open Series Rulebook

1. General Conduct

  • Race respectfully at all times.
  • Intentional wrecking or retaliation will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour (blocking, brake-checking, Vulgar chat or chat abuse) may result in penalties or suspension.

2. Racing Etiquette

  • Drivers must leave at least one car width when another car is hub to hub. This is defined by the rear wheel of the leading car, if before braking you are alongside with your front wheel you have the right to space.
  • Only one defensive move is allowed on a straight.
  • Weaving to break the slipstream is prohibited.
  • Divebombs that rely on the other driver avoiding contact are not acceptable.

3. Track Limits

  • At least two wheel must remain within the white lines.
Repeated track limit violations may result in:
    • Warning
    • time penalties
    • Drive-through
    • Disqualification
Even though the game sometimes says "no time gained" if it happens too much or a big advantage is gained, stewards may take further action.

4. Pit Stops

  • Pit lane speed limit must always be respected.
  • Crossing the pit entry or exit lines is prohibited.
  • Unsafe pit releases may result in penalties.

5. Blue Flags

  • Blue flags are Manditory. If you have a blue flag you must let the car behind through at the earliest safe opportunity. This doesnt mean immidiately, but as soon as possible, for example the next straight or wider turn. Penalties can be handed out for impeding
  • Lapped cars should remain predictable and avoid defending.
  • Faster cars are responsible for completing a safe overtake and lapped cars may not defend.

6. Yellow Flags

  • If the yellow flag is ahead, you must drive carefully, you dont have to brake or slow dramatically, just driver carefully. If you cause an incident by not driving safely, penalties will apply.
  • Slow down and be prepared to avoid incidents.

7. Contact

  • Light contact is ok during overtaking as long as it isn't purposeful. If the contact causes a crash it will be investigated.
  • Causing avoidable contact may result in:
    • Warning
    • 5-second penalty
    • 10-second penalty
    • Drive-through
    • Disqualification (for severe incidents)

8. Rejoining the Track

  • Drivers must rejoin safely. This means wait if there are other cars next to the track. You are allowed to rejoin onto the first half of the track and the cars on track must leave half a tracks room, however if this is directly on to the racing line you must wait for a safe time to rejoin.
  • Cars already on track always have priority.
  • Unsafe rejoins may receive penalties.

9. Qualification

  • Blocking another driver on a flying lap is prohibited no matter what. You must always be aware of your surroundings and find a clear safe for yourself.
  • Drivers on out-laps must allow faster cars on qualifying laps to pass.
  • The in-game system does not always show if a driver is on an invalidated lap or not so be aware of this, if you are on your outlap and a faster driver is approaching, it is best to let them by just to be safe.

10. Championship Scoring

  • Each class scores seperate points and is a separate championship.
  • Stewards can and will move drivers into different championships if they are deemed too fast or slow. So keep that in mind
(as a reference for class pace dependant on race pace at Spa:
    Pro 2:19.0 or faster
    Pro/AM 2:20.5 or faster
    AM 2:21 and slower
keep in mind these are rough estimates that only serve as an idea to which field you should register for)
  • All final points standings after each race will be uploaded in the discord

11. Penalty System

  • Warning
  • +5 seconds
  • +10 seconds
  • Drive-through
  • Stop & Go (30 sec)

  • Championship penalty (for repeated severe offences)
  • and more

12. Discord

  • Being a part of the discord is mandatory.
  • Change your name in the discord to that of your in game username so you are easier to find.
  • Respect everyone in the discord. Discord behaviour can also results in a penalty or worse.

13. Incident Reporting

  • This will be done in the therefore dedicated channel. Create a ticket where you provide all the evidence and state what happened. Show in a clip the helicopter view of the incident and the POV of both drivers. Show roughly 10-15 seconds before the incident as well so the stewards can see what happened before hand.
  • Appealing can be done within
  • ALL STEWARDING DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

13. Most Important Rule

Win with skill, lose with respect. Every driver is expected to race cleanly, fairly, and respectfully. Deliberate crashes, revenge, or toxic behaviour will not be tolerated.

And of course, have fun!
