The ARA Legends Trophy is intended to provide a competitive, enjoyable and professional racing environment that promotes fair competition, respect among participants and high standards of racecraft. All drivers are expected to compete in the spirit of motorsport and to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the event and the wider sim racing community.Participation in the event constitutes acceptance of these regulations and any decisions made by the event organisers and stewards.
Drivers are expected to demonstrate professionalism and respect at all times, both on and off the circuit.Unsporting conduct, harassment, abusive language, intentional disruption, retaliation, or behaviour deemed detrimental to the event may result in penalties, disqualification, or removal from the event.Competitors should remember that all participants are contributing to a shared experience and should race accordingly.
Drivers must maintain control of their vehicle at all times and make every reasonable effort to avoid contact. While racing incidents can occur, competitors are expected to drive with awareness of surrounding vehicles and to make decisions that minimise risk to themselves and others.Aggressive driving that creates unnecessary danger will not be tolerated.Drivers should always prioritise clean competition over short-term gains.
The responsibility for executing a safe overtake rests primarily with the overtaking driver. An overtaking manoeuvre should only be attempted when there is a realistic opportunity to complete the move without causing contact or forcing another driver into an unreasonable position.Drivers attempting overtakes must establish meaningful overlap before corner entry. Divebombs launched from unrealistic distances or moves that rely on another driver taking evasive action to avoid contact are not considered legitimate overtaking attempts. When significant overlap exists prior to corner turn-in, both drivers are expected to provide reasonable racing room and share responsibility for negotiating the corner safely.Successful overtakes are expected to be completed through skill, positioning and racecraft rather than intimidation or contact.
Drivers are entitled to defend their position.A defensive move must be made in a predictable manner and with sufficient time for the following driver to react safely.Repeated weaving, reactionary blocking, moving under braking or deliberately forcing another driver towards the edge of the circuit are prohibited.Defensive driving should be used to protect a position, not to create avoidable danger.
Drivers racing alongside one another must provide adequate space for competitors whenever reasonable overlap exists.Forcing another vehicle beyond track limits, squeezing competitors into kerbs, grass or barriers, or deliberately crowding another car off the circuit may result in penalties.Drivers are expected to demonstrate patience and awareness during side-by-side battles. The objective should be for both competitors to continue racing after the corner rather than determining a winner through contact.
Drivers are expected to respect track limits at all times.Repeatedly exceeding track limits in order to gain an advantage, improve lap times, defend positions or complete overtaking manoeuvres may result in penalties regardless of whether an automatic in-game penalty is issued.Competitors should remain within the intended boundaries of the circuit whenever possible and should not seek to exploit areas beyond those limits.
A driver who leaves the circuit remains responsible for rejoining safely. Before returning to the racing surface, drivers must ensure that the manoeuvre can be completed without interfering with approaching traffic.Unsafe rejoins are considered among the most serious avoidable incidents in motorsport and will be treated accordingly by the stewards.A driver rejoining the circuit must not expect competitors already on track to take avoiding action.
Drivers are expected to avoid contact whenever possible.Minor contact may be considered a racing incident where neither driver is predominantly responsible. However, contact resulting from poor judgement, lack of awareness, excessive aggression or failure to leave adequate space may result in penalties.Using another vehicle as a braking aid, leaning on competitors through corners, pushing another vehicle off-line or gaining an advantage through contact are all unacceptable. When a driver causes another competitor to leave the circuit or lose significant time, the expectation is that the position should be returned where practical and safe to do so.
The opening lap presents the highest concentration of cars and therefore carries the greatest risk of incidents.Drivers are expected to exercise additional caution during the opening phase of the race.Cold tyres, heavy fuel loads and close proximity to other competitors require a more measured approach than would normally be used later in the event.Aggressive first-corner manoeuvres that create unnecessary risk may attract harsher penalties than similar incidents occurring later in the race.
Lapped drivers remain entitled to participate in the race and are not required to leave the circuit. However, they should remain predictable and avoid unnecessarily impeding competitors engaged in position battles.Likewise, faster drivers attempting to lap another competitor remain responsible for completing the manoeuvre safely.Patience and predictability are expected from all parties.
Drivers should communicate respectfully with fellow competitors, event officials and broadcasters.Public arguments, personal attacks, abusive comments and disruptive behaviour are not acceptable.Constructive discussion is encouraged, but disagreements must be handled professionally and respectfully.
Any incidents requiring review will be investigated by the event stewards.Steward decisions will be based on available evidence, including replay footage, onboard footage and any other relevant information.Participants are expected to accept steward decisions professionally, even when they disagree with the outcome. The objective of stewarding is not punishment but the maintenance of fair competition and high driving standards.
The event organisers and stewards retain final authority over all sporting matters relating to the event.Penalties may be issued where conduct is considered inconsistent with the spirit of fair competition, even in circumstances not specifically covered by these regulations. All decisions made by event officials shall be considered final.
The ARA Legends Trophy has been created to celebrate historic Formula racing and provide competitors with a memorable and enjoyable experience.Drivers are encouraged to compete hard, race fairly and demonstrate the highest standards of sportsmanship throughout the event.Respect for fellow competitors, respect for the machinery and respect for the competition should remain the guiding principles of every participant.
