Tire packages will vary from week to week, but typically we will run 4x tire wear on road and street courses, and 5x tire wear on ovals.
Drivers are required to change tire compound at least once during the race. For example, Optional>Primary, or Primary>Wet, etc. This rule is waived on ovals, where Speedway Slick is the only available compound.
Start Procedure
We will host a manual formation lap, to allow drivers to grid up without any of they pesky AMS2 bugs. The pole-sitter will lead the field around on the formation lap, maintaining a speed of 110-120 KPH.
When the field reaches the gridding line (defined clearly in each driver's meeting), everyone must grid up in a tight 2x2 formation.
As the pole-sitter reaches the start/restart zone (defined clearly in each driver's meeting) they may start racing anywhere within that zone. When the leader begins racing, the field may follow suit. If the leader fails to go before the start/finish line, the field is released to race.
Safety Cars & Restarts
Should a yellow flag be waved, we will abide by Automobilista 2's safety car procedure. Drivers will line up where they're told, and only pit when the pits are opened to them. Failure to comply with these procedures will result in a penalty handed down from Automobilsta 2.
Once the safety car returns to pit lane, we will continue with a one-lap mandatory safety period. During this lap, drivers that are not on the lead lap, may pass the lead-lap cars, and gain back a lap. Drivers are not to gain position during the wavearound period. If you gain positions during the wavearound, you will receive a post-race disqualification.
As the field reaches the aforementioned gridding line, they are expected to be stacked back up in a single file grid.
When the race leader reaches the start/restart zone, they may race the field back to green anywhere in the zone. When the leader begins racing, the rest of the field will follow suit. If the leader fails to go before the start/finish line,, the field is released to race.
