Definitions: 
• Administrators / Organisers: means Motorsport UK
• Championship: the 2026 British University Sim Racing Series
• Championship Regulations: means the regulations applicable to the Championship, as published by Motorsport UK (as amended from time to time).
• Discord Server: means the private server used to manage/run/organise the Championship.
• Driver: means any driver competing in the Championship.
• Eligible: means a driver who has not competed in any Motorsport UK Permitted Event or Championship in Cross Car, Rallycross or Autocross, or any equivalent race elsewhere in the world.
• iRacing League: means the privately created and managed in game Championship.
• Prize: means the items specified in Clause 5.a. and 5.b, but subject to Clause 5.
• Race Day: means, subject to availability, competing at Lydden Hill on 25th July 2026.
• Round: means each round as listed in Clause 6 of these Terms & Conditions.
• Stewards: means the judicial body at the event responsible for ensuring the Championship Regulations are adhered to during the Championship and to allocate penalties.

1. Introduction 
a. Motorsport UK are the owners of the competition and have the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
b. It is a condition of entry to the competition that these Terms & Conditions are accepted as binding on the entrant.
c. The Championship is organised and sanctioned by Motorsport UK the governing body of motorsport within the UK. For the avoidance of doubt, the Championship is not certified by the FIA.
d. This is an Esports Championship which is held on the iRacing Motorsport Simulation software platform.
e. Motorsport UK reserves the right to cancel and withdraw the competition at any time.

2. Championship Regulations, Compliance and Driver Responsibility 
a. Drivers are jointly and severally responsible to follow and comply with all rules specified within these Terms & Conditions and the Championship Regulations. 
b. Clarification on, interpretation and determination of any rules, requirements and the Championship Regulations shall be decided by the Stewards.
c. Drivers are expected to review the current race thread on the Discord Server for any pertinent rule revisions for the current week. 
d. Cheating in any form will not be tolerated in any way and will lead to immediate expulsion from the Championship. 
e. Drivers are expected to participate in an ethical and sportsmanlike manner. Taunting, trash-talking, berating or abusing other, Drivers or Officials or the Organisers for any reason will not be tolerated and may lead to expulsion.
f. Drivers are required to provide their own hardware equipment to compete in the Championship.
g. The quality of the internet connection being used by the Driver to compete in the Championship is the sole responsibility of the Driver. Should any internet connection issues result in an unnatural performance of the car the Organiser and/or the Administrators will have the right to remove the Driver from the iRacing Server and record a DNF result. 
h. Timezone – The Championship is based in the UTC Timezone (same as London) and DOES observe daylight savings time. Any official start times listed herein (or the Discord Server), shall refer to UTC.

3. Eligibility & Qualification
a. All Drivers must be approved by the Organisers to be granted entry. 
b. Any entrant must when required by Motorsport UK confirm and provide evidence that they meet the eligibility criteria set out in these Terms & Conditions.
c. The Organiser reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to decide if the eligibility criteria are met. If the eligibility criteria are not met, the entry will be invalid.
d. The Organiser will not enter into any correspondence concerning the eligibility or the Competition.
e. Driver entries must be completed by completing the entry form – entries are issued on a first come first served basis
f. The maximum number of entries permitted to take part in the Championship is 30
g. All Drivers must be 18 years old or over. 
h. All Drivers must be a current student at a University in the UK
i. Drivers must use their full name to participate. Drivers must use their full name in iRacing – any Driver failing to do so will forfeit all results and will not be allowed to participate in the Championship.
j. Drivers must hold a valid Motorsport UK Esports Paid Membership
k. Employees of Motorsport UK and their immediate families, or anyone else professionally connected with this competition are not eligible to win the Prizes

4. Registration, Entry and Withdrawal
a. Registration will be conducted on a first come first served basis
b. The first thirty drivers to submit a valid entry will enter the championship
c. There will be a reserves list for drivers who enter after the championship is full 
d. Any entry that is incomplete or which contains offensive material or is otherwise spoiled shall be discarded and/or rejected as not complying with these Terms & Conditions and shall be void.
e. All competing drivers must hold a Motorsport UK Esports Paid Membership.
f. Following confirmation of entry the Driver will receive a Role in the Motorsport UK Discord server where all pertinent Championship information will be shared with the Drivers
g. In the event that a Driver is unable to participate in a race or multiple races, the Organiser must be notified by email at paul.crawford@motorsportuk.org. 
h. Drivers must join the official Championship Zoom call throughout all official sessions of the Championship to guarantee the correct Driver is participating, cameras must be turned on and the Driver visible at all times whilst driving. Details of the Zoom call will be provided on the Discord Server.
i. By registering for the Championship all Drivers (including Parents) and their associates commit to the Organiser’s Race with Respect campaign (available in the Discord Server) and these Regulations. 
j. Where any reports of disrespectful conduct are judged to be founded, the Stewards may issue warnings or require remedial actions and may impose appropriate penalties which can include race bans through to Championship expulsion and referral to the Organisers.  
k. Drivers posting negative disruptive and/or brand damaging content on social media regarding the Championship or fellow Drivers may result in the Driver being disqualified.
l. In the scenario that a Driver withdraws from the Championship the Entrant fee shall not be reimbursed and any prizes will be forfeited. Forfeited prizes will be allocated to next Driver in line. 

5. Prize
a. The top three drivers in the championship will x2 General Admission tickets to a 2026 British Touring Car Championship Round of their choice 
b. Delivery of the Prize will be effected in a manner at Motorsport UK’s discretion.
c. The Prizes cannot be refunded or exchanged for any cash amount nor exchanged for any other goods or services nor can the Prize be sold or transferred by the winner to any other person.
d. Motorsport UK will not enter into any correspondence concerning the Prize.

6. Calendar 
a. The Calendar for the Championship is as follows:

b. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone a Round or race.
c. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Championship race dates, schedule and times. Drivers will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.
d. The Organisers shall not be held liable for any losses suffered resulting from the cancellation of a race or of server crash of the race server.

7. Communication
a. It is mandatory for Drivers to use our Discord Server. Please download the Discord app if you do not already have it installed.
b. The Administrators will use Discord to announce important information to all Drivers. 
c. The Administrators will use the in-game chat option and this must not be turned off. 
d. Personal information must not be shared on the Discord Server. 
e. When communicating on the Discord Server you must do so with respect. 
f. The Official Language of the Discord Server will be English, if you do not speak English you are responsible for translating any communications yourself. 
g. Game and Discord Server details when relevant will be posted on the Discord Server and all participants notified. 


8. Competition Format, Championship Information & Broadcast
a. Further information regarding the specific format of the Championship is available at: https://esports.motorsportuk.org/events/2026-british-sim-racing-cup. Full details will be provided to qualifying Drivers via the Motorsport UK Discord.
b. Car Setups are fixed for the Championship – the specific setups for each race will be provided by the Organisers. 
c. All Rounds of the Championship will be broadcast live by RaceSpot TV.

10. Data Protection
a. The Driver confirms permission for the Organisers to request and use their personal data as necessary for the limited purposes of this Championship including the publication of their name and / or likeness where applicable.
b. Should the Championship entry include the submission of a third party’s personal data the entrant confirms they have the permission of that third party to do so and that these Terms & Conditions have been brought to that person’s attention.
c. The Organisers may have to share the personal data of any winner with third parties for the purpose of issuing the prize.  

11. Liability
a. Motorsport UK accepts no liability for:
i. system errors or other issues that may result in disruption to, lost, delayed or not received entries, the ability of Drivers to compete, winner notifications or Prizes;
ii. the non-inclusion of entries as a result of technical failures or otherwise;
iii. any losses suffered resulting from the cancellation of a race or crashes of the race servers.
b. Insofar as is permitted by law, Motorsport UK will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Motorsport UK. Your statutory rights are not affected.

12. Jurisdiction
a. These Regulations and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales
