EPRL Rule Set Season 5

1.0.0 Multi-Class

1.1.0 Pre-Requisites 

1.1.1 GT3 - GT3 is open to all with Sports Car License R2.0 or above

1.1.2 GTP - GTP is open to those with Sports Car license A2.0 or higher with the exception of 1.1.3 and is subject to admin approval

1.1.3 GTP -GTP is open to those that have completed a season with EPRL and hold a C2.0 Sports car license or higher and is subject to admin approval

1.2.0 EPRL IMSA Car Specs

1.2.1 GT3 - GT3 Cars will run a 62% capacity Fuel Tank at all rounds

1.2.2 GTP - GTP Cars will be RWD, have a Hybrid system per IMSA regulations and run a 65% capacity Fuel Tank at all rounds 

1.3.0 Race Start/Re-Start Procedure

1.3.1 Start Zone - Start Zone will be determined to suit each track and drivers will be informed at the drivers briefing 

1.3.2 Class Split - The Lead driver of GT3 will maintain a 10 second gap between their car and the last GTP on track

1.3.3 Formation Lap - it is the responsibility of all drivers to keep their cars on the racing surface during the formation lap

1.3.4 Off Track - If a driver does come off the track during formation lap they may rejoin and assume their original position if there is time to do so and it is safe

1.3.5 Off Track 2 - Should a driver not have time to gain back their original starting position they will have to start from the lowest position in class

***NOTE*** any penalties occurred by other drivers in the field from this will be cleared upon Race Start

***NOTE*** any penalties occurred that are not in relation to a car having to start from the back of class will be added again post race

1.3.6 Place Advancement - Should the Pole Sitter not be able to take their place or the grid/Miss the Start the driver in 2nd place will assume control of the start

1.4.0 Track Procedure

1.4.1 It is the responsibility of the faster class car to make their way around slower class cars safely

1.4.2 If a Faster class car is going past a Slower class car approaching or entering a braking zone the faster class car must stay to their committed line unless there is (at the drivers discretion) enough distance between cars to move back to the racing line as long as it will not result in moving under braking

1.4.3 Slower class cars do not have to yield and are entitled to take their normal race line, but must not actively defend against Faster class cars 

1.4.4 If you are involved in an incident that results in you stopped on the racing surface hold your brakes until it is safe to move again

1.4.5 When rejoining the track after going off, ensure you make the rejoin as predictable as possible for trailing cars, and make your rejoin angle as parallel as possible to the race track. Bad rejoins can and will cause major incidents, and will be penalized accordingly.

2.0.0 Drivers

2.1.1 Drivers are determined as any person that is competing in a league race.

2.1.2 Drivers are to respect the decision made by the Steward team

2.1.3 Drivers are advised to Save their Race Replays

2.1.4 Drivers are required to have “Voice Chat” active and a PTT button assigned for critical comms such as “Pass Left “ “Pass Right” “Pitting”(AKA Boxing or Box Box Box) “Track blocked in sector X” etc etc

2.1.5 Any Driver abusing the Voice Chat will be punished for this in accordance with the severity of the incident regardless of who initiated it, repeated incidents can lead to disqualification from the race, being banned from a number of events and/or possible removal from the league

2.1.6 Drivers are allowed 1 car change per season (Before the start of Round 9)

2.1.7 Drivers are allowed 1 livery change per season

2.1.8 Drivers must submit their car submission before their first race in each season via the ticket tool or SimGrid

3.1.0 Driving Standards

3.1.1 Drivers are expected to maintain high standards of etiquette and sportsmanship (e.g forcing people off track and redressing etc etc failure to do so can be penalized accordingly by the stewards)

3.1.2 After the final turn during the Start/Restart the driver in control of the field must maintain formation lap speed until they decide to start or reach the start finish line(whichever happens first)

3.2.0 Track Limits

3.2.1 Track Limits are determined by the white lines around the track, in some cases these lines maybe yellow/outside kerbing as determined by Iracing unless directed by admins in the briefing

3.2.2 Drivers must maintain 2 wheels inside the white lines at all times

3.2.3 A Driver making an overtaking maneuver must keep the car within the bounds of the track throughout the maneuver

3.2.4 If a driver gains an advantage off track they must hand back the advantage to the car it was gained on before an overtake can be attempted

***NOTE*** a car going into the pits does not negate this

4.1 Race Structure

Minimum retirement distance for points: (In the spirit of sportsmanship)

Sprint/Feature 60%

Endurance 40% for Half event points, 80% for Full event points

5.1.1 Qualifying

5.1.1 If during Qualifying drivers are on an out lap, they must yield to cars on hot laps

5.1.2 It is the responsibility of the driver behind to make a safe passing maneuverer

6.1.0 Flag Rules

6.1.1 Green flag/Lights: Normal condition full speed racing/official race start/restart

6.1.2 Yellow: Hazard ahead use caution, reasonably slow down through yellow zone, no overtaking permitted unless unsafe to do so

6.1.3 Safety Car: Slow down significantly, danger on track, no overtaking permitted, standard SC procedure, deployed at the discretion of the stewards

6.1.4 Red: Race stopped, pull over immediately and await instructions from the steward team

6.1.5 Blue: Faster Cars approaching, hold your line and don't actively defend, but you're not required to yield 

6.1.6 White: Final Lap

6.1.7 Yellow/RED: this is the debris flag expect lower grip levels

6.1.8 Chequered Flag: Race finish, slow down and return to pits

7.1.0 Infractions & Penalties

7.1.1 Incidents During the race will need to be reported to the ⁠incident-report Channel via discord 

7.1.2 if there is uncertainty and/or disagreement about who is at fault drivers should report the incident to officials and they will make a determination and issue appropriate actions in the interest of and spirit of fair and competitive racing

7.1.2a All Races will be reviewed the day after the race for investigation of fair racing

8.1.0 Over-Taking

8.1.1 It is the responsibility of the car behind to perform a safe and legal overtake

8.1.2 If a car is alongside, you must give them racing room

***NOTE*** Along side and the right to racing room is determined at the point of turn in from the lead car when an overtake is being attempted in a corner

8.1.3 A car is considered “Along-side” if their front axle is along-side the defending car's rear axle

8.1.4 “Racing Room" is determined to be a minimum of one (1) car width

9.1.0 Miscellaneous

9.1.1 It is the Responsibility of each driver to be on the grid to start from the grid in accordance with iracing structure or start from the pits in accordance with iracing structure

9.1.2 We will be using the “Apollo” Bot for driver check-in for Events via discord, failure to do so will incur a 50 point penalty

9.1.3 Any driver that fails to check in for 6 consecutive weeks/doesn't attend at least 6 Events in a season will have to reapply to the league unless they have an exemption granted by league administration

9.1.4 If any situation that arises is not directly covered by these rules, then a decision will be made at the time in the best interests of sportsmanship and fair racing - and protest based on not being directly covered will not be justification alone for review.

9.1.5 Stewards' decisions may be appealed if new evidence is provided, decisions after appeal are final.

9.1.6 Incident reports are open for up to 36 hours after the race in which they occurred

9.2.1 Driver briefings will be held for each league Event and are mandatory for attendance 

9.2.2 Rounds that fail to meet the minimum number will have equal points allocated to drivers that show up to the briefing

9.2.3 If you check in as "Declined" but become available after check in has closed you can still race provided you message EPRL Admin and attend drivers briefing

9.2.4 If you check in as "Attending" but become unable to race after check in has closed you must message a EPRL Admin with reasonable notice to avoid being penalized

9.2.5 Driver must be following EPRL on SimGrid & registered to the current season they are driving in (details provided upon induction)

9.2.6 Any issues with other drivers on a personal level or in the league that are not involved with actions on track, direct these to Alex M 

9.3.0 International Sanctions

9.3.1 Due to government Sanctions in New Zealand we CAN NOT accept Drivers residing in Russia into the league, due to the Government's stance on paid Esports Competition, as we offer prizes in our GT3 league (and other leagues as we expand).

10.0.0 Voice Channels

10.1.1 Grandstands- To be used for general chat 

 

10.1.2 Practice - To be used for Practice/ for Special Events

10.1.3 Race Room 1 - To be used for general chat during races

10.1.4 Race Room 2 - To be used for general chat during races

10.1.5 Drivers can be in discord vc during races at their discretion, anything that happens in the vc is the responsibility of said drivers

10.2.1  During League races Drivers are to use the in game vc to communicate race information

11.0.0 Streaming/V.O.D

11.1.1 Don't say anything derogatory directed at another competitor or the league

as we take this very seriously breaching this rule will incur 6 penalty points

11.1.2 Streaming/V.O.D is determined as anything that can be found on a public forum including but not limited to youtube, twitch, kick, ect.

11.1.3 Drivers can post links to their content in broadcast announcements channel but no pinging roles without permission from league owner
