Haven GT Challenge | Preseason Test

Join us at Silverstone for our preseason testing session! We'll be trialing a new pit format, new weather system, and a new mixed grid with the BMW M2 CS sharing the track with GT3!

Weekend format:

Free Practice: 18:00 BST

Qualifying: 19:00 BST

Race: 19:20 BST

Grid

The grid will now feature GT3 and BMW M2 CS cars racing alongside each other! This is not a final decision, but we want to test multi-class racing for potential implementation in the future.

There will be no mandatory tire change, and there will now be one, 25s mandatory fuel pit stop to promote alternate tire strategies and diversify pit options.

Weather System

We are trialing a new weather system for the coming season. With this new system we are hoping to improve the immersion/simulation aspect of the league. Under the new system, drivers will be given general conditions ahead of each race similar to how daily races on SimGrid are categorized (e.g. "Hot and dry", "Cold and Damp", "Moderate and Cloudy").

A key change is that the practice server will not necessarily reflect the race conditions. It will be broadly in line with the race (to a realistic degree) but like how weather can change over the course of a race weekend in real life, the weather for the practice server and race server may differ to a low-moderate degree.

Custom Liveries

While we will not officially support them this race, they will be allowed to be run. Season 2 of the Haven GT Challenge will fully support them on stream.
