Welcome drivers and teams to the ARL DTM Championship. A thrilling 8 round team competition mimicking the real life DTM series structure. Teams will consist of 2 drivers with 2 matching cars(same manufacturer). 2x 60 minute races per round with a 120 minute single race finale at Nordschleife. Final round also worth double points. Double race weekends will feature 1 nighttime start, 1 daytime start. One event every 2 weeks. Trophies awarded to the winning team, based on shipping. Champions’ ring awarded to the top overall driver, based on shipping.
Please create your team with Simgrid before signing up. Make sure you and your teammate select the same team when signing up. Teams must be using the same car with similar color liveries. Drivers wishing to participate without a team may sign up in the Gentleman class. Gentleman class drivers are encouraged to pair together and form a team, but not a requirement.
Race weekend for rounds 1-7 will consist of:
Race weekend for round 8:
Just like in DTM, a success ballast will be used on the top 3 drivers in overall standings after each event.(1st=15kg, 2nd=10kg, 3rd=5kg) No success ballast used in finale race. If a team driver will have to miss a race, a gentleman driver can be subbed in for team scoring purposes. You don’t need to physically add the driver to your team, but team will have to make admin aware before the race to know a sub is being used. This is not a requirement, but an option to not miss out on scoring because a teammate has to miss a race. Gentleman driver can only be subbed onto 1 team per event. Gentleman class can be used as a sub as many times as needed throughout the series. Qualy rules apply to all team subs(only 1 teammate can qualify per race).
Special rules for the series will include 2 mandatory stops each race. Drivers will have 10 sets of tires each race weekend. No refueling allowed in the 60 minute races, tires are always optional. For rounds 1-7, there will be 2 races per weekend. Each team driver can only qualify for 1 race. Only 1 team driver can qualify for Race 1. Second driver is to remain in the pits and start wherever you’re placed. For Race 2, driver who did not qualify for Race 1 must qualify in Race 2. First driver will sit in the pits and start wherever placed. Gentleman class drivers can only pick 1 qualy to participate in, must sit in the pits for 1 of the qualy sessions. No driver should be qualifying for both races. Basically if you qualified for Race #1, don’t qualify for Race #2. If you didn’t qualify for Race #1, you must qualify for Race #2. No teammates should be qualifying together for the same race.
Blue flags do not have to give up the racing line. We ask that you do not defend into the corners and allow room or if possible a slight lift down the straights to help facilitate a pass. It is the faster car’s responsibility to make a safe pass on blue flagged cars. Remember this is a multiple stop race. Blue flags could represent drivers on a different pit strategy. If you are a blue flagged car, you are allowed to unlap yourself at anytime in the race. Common sense is the best tool in these situations.

Purposely blocking other drivers or sabotaging races will not be tolerated along with driver bashing after a race. Most disputes can be worked out via private chat. Practice server will be available for each event. Weather will be locked in 7 days before the event using Accuweather. ARL’s incident reporting will open 12 hours after each race on discord. Make sure you stream or record your race for incident reporting.
